What is happening in the passage? Who is 'the stranger? Research the book and write a description of what it is about. Identify words that you do not understand and write their meanings. | One chilly, blustery morning in March, I cannot tell exactly how many springs later, Hazel was dozing and waking in his burrow. He had spent a good deal of time there lately, for he felt the cold and could not seem to smell or run so well as in days gone by. He had been dreaming in a confused way -- something about rain and elder bloom -- when he woke to realise that there was a rabbit lying quietly beside him -- no doubt some young buck who had come to ask his advice. The sentry in the run outside should not really have let him in without asking first. Never mind, though Hazel. He raised his head and said, "Do you want to talk to me?" "Yes, that's what I've come for," replied the other. "You know me, don't you?" "Yes, of course," said Hazel, hoping he would be able to remember his name in a moment. Then he saw that in the darkness of the burrow the stranger's ears were shining with a faint silver light. "Yes, my lord," he said. "Yes, I know you." "You've been feeling tired," said the stranger, "but I can do something about that, I've come to ask whether you'd care to join my Owsla. We shall be glad to have you and you'll enjoy it. If you are ready, we might go along now." They went out past the young sentry, who paid the visitor no attention. The sun was shining and in spite of the cold there were a few bucks and does at silflay, keeping out of the wind as they nibbled the shoots of spring grass. It seemed to Hazel that he would not be needing his body anymore, so he left it lying on the edge of the ditch, but stopped for a moment to watch his rabbits and to try and get used to the extraordinary feeling that strength and speed were flowing inexhaustibly out of him into their sleek young bodies and healthy senses. "You needn't worry about them," said his companion. "They'll be all right -- and thousands like them. If you'll come along, I'll show you what I mean." He reached the top of the bank in a single, powerful leap. Hazel followed; and together they slipped away, running easily down through the wood, where the first primroses were beginning to bloom... Goodbye Milo. |

A rabbit called Hazel is dozing when his "lord" calls for him and asks him to join his party of rabbits on a journey to "Owsla" with him. Hazel follows him to the wood and he leaves his friends behind because it says, "Goodbye, Milo".

This is a superb piece of work. The detail in the review is first class. You have - again - given 100% to a task and produced a very articulate and well structured passage of writing. I really enjoyed reading this. The background and plot description is really interesting. Well done...

You give a good list of characters and offer some details of the plot. However, the plot description could be more in depth. Research the text in more detail.

This chapter is about a rabbit who comes to ask Hazel for his advise and also there is a rabbit jumping of a bank while the primroses begin to bloom. The stranger is the rabbit who comes to ask for Hazel's advice. The book is about a rabbit called Fiver who persuades 7 other rabbits to leave and find a new home. There is obstacles in their way like a rat filled cemetery and a speeding river!

You wrote a succinct passage that outlines the story but needs to be in greater detail. Think about the character that comes to Hazel. Who could this be?

The stranger is the lord rabbit who has come to take Hazel to Owlsa. I think Lord rabbit is the head of the rabbits because in the passage it says ' Yes my lord '. The rabbits have a nice home in the natural environment. The word I didn't know was anthropomorised . I now know that it means attribution of human form or behaviour deity , animal.

The passage is about Hazel, who is a very important and wise rabbit, I know he is wise because many rabbits come and ask him for advise. Hazel was dreaming in his burrow about a guardian/angel rabbit who asked him to join his owsla.
