In English we have been looking at journalistic writing, focusing on the features of newspaper articles, including direct and indirect speech. The children worked very hard (both at school and with their homework) to produce their own articles, reporting on the evacuation of children during WW2. They drafted, edited and redrafted their written articles before typing them into a Word document to produce genuine looking printed articles. We have been able to create a fabulous class newspaper of all the articles. Here is a snapshot of the children at work and some of their finished work.
